Welcome to Woodlawn Celestial Gardens, previously known as Woodlawn Memorial Park. in Compton, California. Established in December 1870, the cemetery was initially known as "Compton Rural Cemetery" then as "Woodlawn Memorial Park" until it finally closed in 2019 due to insufficient funding. In May 2020, One Section at a time began the task of reclaiming the once tranquil cemetery from the dire state of neglect and despair which followed its closing. On November 2, 2021, Woodlawn Celestial Gardens became the owner, operator of Woodlawn . We are building a pictorial story of Woodlawn. Please come back frequently to see our progress.
